Chicago police shooting: Laquan McDonald video released

CHICAGO -- (WGN/AP) -- A Chicago police officer is being held without bail in the fatal shooting of a teenager.
Jason Van Dyke is charged with first-degree murder in in the death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. McDonald was shot 16 times on Oct. 20, 2014.

Charges were announced Tuesday. Later in the day the city of Chicago released a squad-car video of the shooting.
The video reportedly shows McDonald armed with a small knife and walking away from officers. Van Dyke opens fire from about 15 feet and keeps shooting after the teen falls to the ground.
