RANCHO CORDOVA -- (KTXL) -- The U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations is asking for the public's help with a 37-year-old cold case.
"At the time of the homicide, the East Area Rapist (EAR) was active in Northern California and the suspect could have been the EAR," a Facebook post reads.
Nearly 37 years after Sgt. Brian Maggiore and his wife Katie, were killed while walking their dog in 1978, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations is the first agency to officially name a potential connection between the East Area Rapist and the Rancho Cordova couple's death.
