SAN MARCOS, Tex. -- (KXAN) -- The trainers who teach law enforcement and educators how to respond to active shooters have released a video to help everyday citizens do the same thing if faced with a life threatening situation.

The Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University says the video is informative, potentially lifesaving and can help close the gap that still exists with training citizens who are on scene and seeing the problem first.
