Family finds dog shot, home ransacked

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Police are investigating a burglary where a home near 132nd and Lamar was ransacked, and a family's therapy dog was shot in the face and neck on Tuesday afternoon.
Police tell FOX 4 that the homeowner's son arrived to the home around 3:30 p.m. and found their eight-year-old golden retriever mix shot, and immediately took the dog to a veterinarian. The dog is expected to survive, but family tells FOX 4 that Miko will have to have surgery on Wednesday.
