DENVER -- (KDCR) --A revolutionary surgical procedure saved the life of a Denver police officer who was shot in the line of duty last week.
A doctor who helped perform the surgery the operation that saved Officer Tony Lopez Jr. is Army trained and battle tested in Iraq and Afghanistan. Denver Health Medical Center is one of the few trauma centers able to perform this procedure.
