Man killed after masked intruder invades parents' home

WOODBURN, Ill. -- (KTVI) -- A family in Woodburn, Illinois, awakened by a nightmare they're still living with today. Ruth and Wayne Adams were in bed early New Year's Day 2015 when they heard a struggle. Their 34-year-old son, Cody, was wrestling with a masked intruder carrying a gun.
“And then I got that person up against the refrigerator and I said, 'What are you doing? What's going on here, what are you doing?'” Wayne said.
The intruder had shot Cody.
