CLAREMONT, N.Y. -- (WPIX) -- A Bronx mother has been indicted in connection with the deaths of her two young children who were left alone in their apartment when a fire erupted, sparked by incense.

"The loss of these two young girls is a devastating consequence of their mother’s seemingly innocuous actions," Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said.

Haya Konte, 27, was indicted Tuesday on two counts of criminally negligent homicide and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child when was arraigned.
