MARIETTA, Ga. -- (WGCL) -- Justin Ross Harris has received the maximum sentence and will spend the rest of his life in prison in the death of his son Cooper Harris.
Judge Mary Staley sentenced Harris Monday afternoon in a Cobb County Courtroom. Harris was found guilty of malice murder after he left his son in his SUV in the parking lot of his job in June 2014.
In November, Harris was found guilty on all eight counts, including malice murder, felony murder, cruelty to children, criminal attempt to commit a felony and dissemination of harmful material to minors.
After the judge decided an impartial jury couldn't be assembled in Cobb County, Staley moved the trial to Brunswick, Ga. in Glynn County.
Harris has been given the maximum sentence to run consecutively. He will serve life without parole, plus 32 years.
