SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- (WLOS) -- A Spartanburg man was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday for the death of a 2-year-old boy.
After a 3-day trial, Rodney O. Samuels, 27, was found guilty of homicide by child abuse.
Authorities say Samuels used blunt force trauma to kill 2-year-old Christian Blake Gentry on Jan. 4, 2015. The cause of death was a lacerated liver.
The boy was left with Samuels, his stepfather, while his mother ran errands. Samuels admitted to pushing the child off of a bed while the defendant was lying there with another baby.
