Todd Kohlhepp pleads guilty to 7 killings in exchange for life sentences

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- (WLOS) -- Convicted serial killer Todd Kohlhepp has accepted a plea deal that will send him to prison for life without parole.
Kohlhepp pleaded guilty to seven counts of murder in exchange for seven consecutive life sentences.
He has agreed not to appeal.
Kohlhepp's plea deal means there will not be a trial. He faced a total of 14 charges, including murder and kidnapping.
He could also face 30 extra years for criminal sexual conduct, and 30 extra years for kidnapping.

Prosecutors could have sought the death penalty against Kohlhepp, who was arrested in November after investigators rescued a woman chained inside a container on his property for more than two months.
Kohelphepp has admitted to killing seven people over nearly 13 years in South Carolina, while running a successful real estate business.
