Daycare worker charges upgraded in child's death, bond hearing delayed for a day

MOBILE, Ala. -- (WPMI) -- A daycare employee in Mobile is facing manslaughter and abuse of corpse charges in the death of Kamden Johnson.
Valarie Patterson appeared in court in Mobile Wednesday morning for a bond hearing. Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich said they added manslaughter charge overnight.
The 46-year-old was arrested in connection to five-year-old Kamden Johnson's death. His body was found near a home on Demetropolis Road Monday afternoon. Valarie Patterson was working at Community Nursery and Preschool Academy.
